Jonathon Smith

Mr. Smith is a Principal in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on European credit. Prior to joining Ares in 2023, Mr. Smith was a Vice President in the European Liquid Credit Group at HPS Investment Partners, where he focused on leveraged loans and high yield bonds, covering the industrials sector. Previously, Mr. Smith was an Associate within the European Leveraged Finance team at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Smith holds a B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance and an M.Sc. in Finance from the London School of Economics.
