Rachel Lao

Ms. Lao is a Managing Director in the Ares Legal Department. Prior to joining Ares in 2020, Ms. Lao was a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at SSG Group (now Ares Asia), where she advised on private credit investments and strategic initiatives in APAC. Previously, Ms. Lao was a Senior Associate at Hogan Lovells, where she focused on cross-border debt restructuring and special situations investments. Ms. Lao holds an L.L.B. from King's College London in Law. She is admitted to practice law in England & Wales, and Hong Kong.
