Ian Smith

Mr. Smith is a Partner and Portfolio Manager of U.S. Liquid Credit in the Ares Credit Group, where he is responsible for managing Ares' U.S. CLO, hedge fund, derivative, and hedging strategies. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Ares Credit Group's U.S. Liquid Credit Investment Committee and the Ares Equity Income Opportunity Strategy Portfolio Review Committee. Mr. Smith began his career at Ares in 2002, where he worked as a member of the Investment Analytics Team for the Credit Group, most recently as Manager. Mr. Smith holds a B.S. from the University of Southern California in Business Administration and emphasis in Finance.
